I know, I usually write about silly stuff or link to weird and unusual and interesting stuff. Today, it’s time for a detour to the tough stuff. Drug rehab and just to make things interesting, cord blood too. Dealing with a family member who may need to be in drug rehab is tough, thank goodness the internet has advanced to the point where information and support are readily available.
Are you in need of insurance? The ASDA site has both Home Insurance and Car Insurance. The site is nicely designed and easy to use. There is information regarding savings accounts, loans and credit cards as well. A one stop shopping type of website is my favorite kind. Check out the FAQ section, that’s the kind of detail I like to see in this type of website. The more questions you can answer via FAQ, the happier I am.
I just bought a new cell phone. I like it, though I haven’t figured out all of the features yet. TW was actually just bugging me about the video aspect. In December, it will be time to buy another phone.
I can tell you one thing my phone does not have, and I’m glad - it’s a BMI calculator built in. This phone is wrong. A cell phone “marketed to women” meaning a cell phone that lets you check your BMR and BMI.
The next phone I buy won’t be a Philips, I can tell you that much.
Well it’s in the air down here in Florida. In fact it has been in the air for a good long while and we really need to get into the garden and whip it into shape - before it is too late. The bamboo has taken over, the square foot gardens are growing wild and the fruit trees need some serious attention. Let’s not even think about the patio that has somehow acquired an unusual array of oddities that people have put out there for “temporary storage”.
The job and thinking about the job is overwhelming. I’ve found wandering around gardening websites for inspiration helps. Remember that gnome site I talked about last year? Well the folks over there have added a bunch of new items to their stock. Maybe I will treat our garden to some Stepping Stones once I’ve got it all neat and tidy. Only problem with that is trying to decide which one(s) to choose. I’ve never seen so many different stepping stones. (Please don’t suggest the frogs or the gator - other than that, help me choose 3 or 4, please!)
We were in London last month, I mentioned that, right? We spent a LOT of time in the Tube or the Underground or the Subway - whatever you prefer to call it. We called it The Tube and occasionally we called it HELL (5pm rush hour traffic was madness).
We also called it interesting and fun. I wish more big cities had underground transportation systems. Check out this site that lists the Top Underground Transit Systems. There are some great photos and videos. Interesting stuff.
We have tape dispenser issues in this house. Some kid or another is constantly taking the tape and not returning it. I’ll go on a bedroom cleaning binge and find dozens of rolls of tape. It annoys me. I’d like to ban tape forever!
But then I see this cute frog tape dispenser and I think “Michelle would love this!” (she collects frogs) But then I remember the tape ban and then I remember she’s put a moratorium on frog gifts because she has too many. Oh well. It was nice to think about.
Which brings me to another type of “tape dispenser” - the soap tape dispenser! I can only imagine what would happen if I bought a few of these for the bathrooms.
It’s Girl Scout Cookie time! We’ve ordered 12 boxes from a girl named Chase who stopped by here last weekend, (Or was it the weekend before? Time flies when you’re old.) Why oh why did the special Find Cookies page have to resize my browser window? That freaked me out, it’s early and I need more coffee before that stuff happens. Actually, I’d prefer it to never happen. Anyway, if a Girl Scout has not made her presence known to you and you want to order, you can track down a miniature cookie salesperson.
Incoming calls on my cell phone are free. That doesn’t mean I am going to answer every Tom, Dick and marketing company who calls me - I’m not. But then, when I don’t answer a number I don’t recognize, I begin to wonder WHO it was and WHY they were calling me on my cell. Reverse Cell Phone Look Up is a handy tool to help me figure that out.
How often do you find a blog that contains all three of those things? Almost never! Which is what makes Grace-Full Thoughts so fabulous. OK fine, it’s other stuff too. I’m so glad Sister Catherine Grace started blogging again. Nuns, sex and slugs = awesome!
I am officially looking for a new cell phone. This means I am also looking for a new cell phone plan. Right now I’m no a Nextel plan, and so are two of the big kids. Jenn and my mom and my sister and my brother all have Verizon. Last year, I didn’t switch. I just renewed, kept my old phone and took a $50 credit as my renewal bonus. I can’t do that this year, my phone is seriously tired. The buttons don’t want to “press” and it shuts down - totally just shuts down for no reason - at random moments.
I’ve been lookin at the top ten free Verizon cell phones. Wirefly also has other plans and phones listed. This makes it pretty simple to compare all the plans, and make a good choice. Do I want a pink Razr? I might.
