A cell phone I won’t buy

Filed under: daily life, family, shopping, tech, women — newandunusual @ 4:24 pm

I just bought a new cell phone. I like it, though I haven’t figured out all of the features yet. TW was actually just bugging me about the video aspect. In December, it will be time to buy another phone.

I can tell you one thing my phone does not have, and I’m glad - it’s a BMI calculator built in. This phone is wrong. A cell phone “marketed to women” meaning a cell phone that lets you check your BMR and BMI.

The next phone I buy won’t be a Philips, I can tell you that much.

Pink ribbons, who needs ‘em?

Filed under: blogs, health, women — newandunusual @ 4:03 pm

Not me, that’s for sure. And not Jacqueline either! Spend some time at Rebel1in8 and if you ever come across any other anti-pink ribbon sites or campaigns, could you drop me a line or leave me a comment and let me know.

Nuns, Sex and Slugs

Filed under: blogs, daily life, women — newandunusual @ 3:54 pm

How often do you find a blog that contains all three of those things? Almost never! Which is what makes Grace-Full Thoughts so fabulous. OK fine, it’s other stuff too. I’m so glad Sister Catherine Grace started blogging again. Nuns, sex and slugs = awesome!

Your muse

Filed under: blogs, women — newandunusual @ 12:44 am

Who is your muse? Is it even possible to choose one? I don’t think so and it seems she who flies might agree. Sprinkled all through her blog, you’ll find slide shows dedicated to women. Anais Nin, Mary Magdalene, Kate Bush… surf away. Muse away.

Pinups?

Filed under: entertainment, women — newandunusual @ 3:53 pm

Following a wee bit of a trend…. how do you feel about pinups? You’re not gonna go all nazi feminist on me, are you? Even feminists can appreciate the art in a good pinup if they quit taking themselves so seriously. I know I can.

Breasts!

Filed under: entertainment, women — newandunusual @ 2:52 am

100 years of breast obsession, to be specific. Only 100 years? That’s not enough. (pst Dita Von Tease is at the top of the page - so be prepared if you click. Some folks or workplaces may not appreciate breasts the way we do.)
