Interesting way to make pancakes
When I was a kid, I loved it when my mom made pancakes and bacon for breakfast on the weekends. No, I’m not really a fan of pancakes (and I can barely tolerate the sight or smell of bacon). I’ll eat them occasionally but I’d rather have eggs.
This little pancake blog post made me laugh out loud. I’m thinking I will never be able to eat another pancaked without picturing this.

Peeps!
I love Peeps. Well I love the idea of them and their oddness. I’ve even become a fan of their unusual colors and shapes and I don’t mind so much that they no longer just appear at Easter. Well ok I lied, I don’t like that. They should only be available at Easter. But if I think about that too much, I will start to rant. So, back to “I love Peeps,” ok?
The real reason I love peeps is because people do cool things with them. The latest cool thing I have seen is Peeps at the Library. I love libraries!
Have Peeps gone to space? Does anyone know? I mean REALLY gone to space, like in a shuttle with an astronaut (preferably not a deranged female astronaut but whatever…)

Cookie Time
It’s Girl Scout Cookie time! We’ve ordered 12 boxes from a girl named Chase who stopped by here last weekend, (Or was it the weekend before? Time flies when you’re old.) Why oh why did the special Find Cookies page have to resize my browser window? That freaked me out, it’s early and I need more coffee before that stuff happens. Actually, I’d prefer it to never happen. Anyway, if a Girl Scout has not made her presence known to you and you want to order, you can track down a miniature cookie salesperson.

How do you eat an oreo?
Actually, I don’t care how you eat one as long as you don’t eat it near me. I hate watching people do weird things to oreo cookies. Just eat the darn thing, for goodness sakes. And if I ever catch anyone doing this with an oreo I might commit murder. Oreos are one of the few cookies I actually like.

Good Mood Diet?
Have you seen the Good Mood Diet? or the Good Mood Diet Blog?
I know, the last thing we need is another diet. Particularly one that sounds as gimmicky as this one does. (Is gimmicky a real word?) I like bits of it but I’m completely turned off by the “1 week to erasing depression” thing. In one week you can erase depression? Give me a break.
Yes eating some foods can help you feel better. Yes, losing weight will probably also help you feel better. But 1 week to erasing depression is pushing it. A lot. Bad tag line, really bad. So don’t buy the book, ok?

This is the best idea I’ve heard in a very long time. And why didn’t I think of this? All of those years of Girl Scout camps, this would have been a nice change of pace. And the clean up - so easy! Brilliant.

13 Food Gifts NOT To Give
Elaine Magee, aka The Recipe Doctor is back at it! She’s got 13 Food Gifts NOT to give.
My sister sent her yearly Harry & David tower yesterday. That’s a pretty good food gift for our family, though there are things in it that some of us won’t eat, there really is something for everyone. TW ate the Moose Munch very quickly and asked me to hide the rest so she wouldn’t sit there and finish the bag before the day was over.
And of course, the pears, those are always popular around here. There are only 4 … so which kid doesn’t get one? Can you cut pears in half?

This is not on my wish list
I really do not like brownies that are on the “edge” of the pan. I would never want this pan that makes the whole batch of brownies “edge brownies”. That’s disgusting. I don’t understand how anyone can eat the edges, but then I don’t know how anyone can eat the pie crust edges either. That’s worse than brownie edges.

A chipwreck!
Oh no, there was a chipwreck! Thank goodness folks are “chipping in” (hahaha) to help with the clean up! I’ve spent a lot of time on beaches but never had anything that interesting wash up on shore. Maybe some salsa will wash up next week?
