This was the weirdest Christmas in the history of Christmas. No batteries were required. None. That has never happened to me. And it certainly hasn’t happened since I’ve had six kids. I’m almost feeling like we didn’t do Christmas right because there were no batteries required. Weird. Twilight Zone weird.

Everyone loves to color
OK so not everyone loves to color but I think even people who don’t love to color would love to color themselves - or their favorite kids - or even their favorite pets. Right? If you could gift someone with a coloring book full of coloring pages of people they know, that would be a very popular gift, wouldn’t it? Well what are you waiting for? Thank me later, just get busy creating your coloring book in time for Christmas.

Front Porch Classics
My sister sent “Shut the Box” to one of the children for Christmas. It’s a great game and everyone can play it. I’d like to recommend Front Porch Classics. The quality of the construction and design is excellent.
Shut the Box, for instance, is a fantastic wooden box. Rustic looking and smells like old wood and varnish. It’s a fantastic presentation compared to other versions of the game. Granted, it costs twice as much, but in this case I think it’s worth it.

Alien Adoption
Ya know, we’ve been talking about adoption a lot around here. It’s generally been African orphan adoption but now, I’m thinking we should add an alien to the household.
Poor little aliens! I’m on their side! I am! I will feed them their special nutrients, even if “sloog” sounds like something I’d find hidding away in the corner of Prince J’s bedroom. I will interact with them online so they can communicate with others like them and so they can grow up to be smart and interesting little aliens.
Alien Adoption World Collectors Kits can be found on ebay but you should really adopt your alien from the official adoption world instead. If you order before December 19th, you’ll be giving an alien a great Christmas! Aliens deserve Christmas, too, don’t they?

Now you can skateboard in the house!
Or in the office! New vinyl skateboards make that possible. Umm no, it isn’t the fact that the “normal” skateboards are wood or anything else, it’s that the movement of the skateboard and the skateboarder in the house ’causes issues.
I think the vinyl boards are cool. But I would recommend you NOT buy the long board thinking your boss is going to let you use it to skateboard in the office.

Crayon Art
We have this set of carving knives and stuff that are intended to be used to create weird stuff out of food. I don’t understand the point of such a thing, except for pumpkin carving. I’m wondering if a few of our more creative and artistic family members might be able to use those knives and the abundance of old crayons to create some interesting sculptures - like these. I’m tempted to set a couple to the task, they would make really nice Christmas gifts for grandparents and friends, don’t you think?
