Napmosphere

power-napping - napmosphere: “The individual who is apt to having midday-lows during the work day can dive into a relaxing atmosphere. After a 20 minutes regeneration period the individual arises motivated and fully re-energized. The multi-layered translucent and breathable capsule in combination with a 3-dimensional laying surface allows for the boundaries of the room to disappear.”

I need this! A Napmosphere!

Jones wants you to give soda, not chocolate, this Valentine’s - Slashfood

Jones wants you to give soda, not chocolate, this Valentine’s - Slashfood: “This year Jones is introducing its limited edition ‘Love Potion #6′ soda in a special pack that includes two bottles of the pink drink, Love Potion #6 lip balm, a CD sampler, and a coupon book full of ‘love coupons’ to exchange with your sweetheart.”

Looks like a trip to Target is in my near future. The Jones Holiday Sodas have become some sort of interesting holiday tradition of late. We skipped the winter grouping but Halloween was interesting. There was something else on my Target list. Oh yeah, the good kind of potato chips we found in South Carolina. Well, I enjoyed them. I think everyone else did not. This makes them even better since I won’t have to share or obsess that they have been contaminated with kid hand grime.

Coke fans, it’s back to the real thing — in glass

Filed under: Uncategorized — newandunusual @ 7:47 pm

Coke fans, it’s back to the real thing — in glass: “If you think Coca-Cola in a glass bottle is really ‘The Real Thing,’ here’s some good news.
The Atlanta-based beverage giant has rolled out new, 11.8-ounce glass bottles with a resealable top, a test product being offered in only three cities — Chicago, Phoenix and Atlanta.”

YAY! YAY! YAY! Real bottle Cokes, NOT in the tiny bottles, are ON THE WAY BACK! If you live in one of the above mentioned cities, buy tons so the rest of us deprived of bottle Coke folk can have them soon! YAY! This almost makes up for the evil thing they did to the Christmas Coke Packaging.

Invention: The moody media player

Filed under: Uncategorized — newandunusual @ 12:35 pm

New Scientist Breaking News - Invention: The moody media player: “a media player that selects songs based on its owner’s latest mood.

The device has wrist sensors that measure body temperature, perspiration and pulse rate. It uses these measurements to build a profile of what music or video the owner plays when they are hot, cold, dry or sweaty, and when their pulse is racing or slow.”

Interesting. I am not sure how much my iPod should learn about me though!

School journalism hits safety roadblock: “Students’ names removed for protection”

No names on student newspaper stories? These are not elementary school kids. Pretty soon, cub reporters at newspapers near you won’t have their full names. At what age do you get your full name?

No Booth Babes at E3? WHY Lord, WHY? - Gizmodo

Now, this is just wrong. How will my son ever be properly socialized if he doesn’t grow up to know that the height of video game employment occurs when you can chat up a booth babe?

Inserting appropriately feminist mommy: Good for them! No more scantily clad women to sell things. All video game consumers should love women for the clothed selves they should be. Errr…I mean hmmm…what is the appropriate feminist mommy thing here? I mean after all, on one hand women shouldn’t be objects and so on but on the other…women shouldn’t be forced to cover up.

Girly Urinal?

Feminal Female Urinal. - Better than those cool uri-mate snowcones? I know there was one time when my daughter would have liked for me to have had one of these in the trunk. Could have come in handy in the attic bedroom, too.

Soul Singing Legend Pickett Dies

Filed under: Uncategorized — newandunusual @ 1:39 pm

Soul Singing Legend Pickett Dies: “Soul legend Wilson Pickett, who sang hits like Mustang Sally and In The Midnight Hour, has died.”
:-( Now, Wilson Pickett probably rings a bell to some because of the reference you have heard when Rod Stewart sings “Sweet Soul Music.”

But he really ought to ring a bell when you hear the name Sally or woo your woman with you talk of the seeing the twinkle in her eyes at the Midnight Hour.

Can you tell my marshmallowness, perhaps, was heavily influenced by Wilson Pickett?

So…a bit from Wilson Pickett’s Engine #9 to say goodbye to a soul that will be missed.

Well it’s a real long way to go…to say goodbye
I thought we already did that
Have fun…tell the world
Well it’s a real long way to go…to say goodbye
I thought we already said that
So have fun…tell the world

You were high in my life…obsessive was my love
So have fun…tell the world
Oh no, you are fading out
Well can you be of any help to me? (Can I be of any help to you?)
I don’t think so (Help him…help her)
Well I can do it…
Well I can make it…
Well can you be of any help to me? (Have fun…tell the world)
Ooooohhh…You were high in Life…
